20 days of Christmas movies ...#7

I'll be on a plane home tomorrow and won't be able to post anything, so here you go for #7. I bet you thought the first time Bing sang "White Christmas" was in the movie named for the song. Not so. It was Holiday Inn.

Another of my favorites! I'm getting all nostalgic and may have to dedicate the better part of Sunday afternoon to Christmas movies and sewing. :)

Hey remember that Christmas movie we used to watch -- it had Mary Steenburgen in it?? We loved watching that one too -- just can't remember the name of it!

Speaking of White Christmas I did some research on Vera-Ellen the girl who played the super skinny dancer, and she was anorexic before the phrase was even invented.

They made all her collars super high in the movie because I guess she started aging in her neck.

And just another thing I found on Wikipedia, she didn't really sing any of her songs.

I can sleep easier tonight, I don't know about you.

Edith Head did the costumes and purposely showed off those great (although thin) legs of Vera Ellen's, drawing attention away from her really bony neck and shoulders. It's a really sad story, because in her early movies, she's just about perfect and then *wham*. Anorexia.

What a great performer, though! YAY Christmas movies!!
